When You Have A Type-C Personality

Type C Personality: The necessary care

We all want to get along with our family and friends regardless of the context. Sometimes it happens that one of our loved ones has a specific personality type that needs special treatment. Such is the case of those individuals who possess a Type C Personality.

These persons tend to be rational, calm, and even peaceful persons who shy away from conflict. Unfortunately this temperament has another aspect: The Type C Personality also repress negative emotions such as anger and fear. Sometimes they cope with complex situations by repressing their emotions, denying them and inhibiting them completely. Faced with stressful situations, they may even self-harm.

If you have a friend or family member with this personality you should help them in some way.

Care

If you have realized that your partner, family member or friend has a Type C Personality, you need to help him/her in a subtle way so that he/she does not feel invaded. Subtle is the key word right now… for if you are invasive he/she will shut down even more. Simply talk to him/her about topics that he/she likes, whatever the subject may be. This will relax him/her and you will be able to ask him/her how he/she feels about a certain situation. If you trust each other, he/she will probably be more open to talk about his/her feelings.

Never judge them, just listen to them and engage with them at key times. A person with the Type-C Personality would literally relax around you.

Acting in time

Many psychiatrists believe that the TYPE C PERSONALITY is the most prone to cancer.

Although this is not totally confirmed, it is advisable to quickly help those who have this personality. In addition to developing a positive relationship, it is important to ensure that they have a healthy lifestyle. Why not exercise, go for a little walk, jog, yoga meditation, pilates or such!

The key is to balance emotions through positive habits that engages both their mind and body. In order to reduce any health risks and this may also go for all personality types it might be a good idea to change to a healthier lifestyle.

Change

The best way to care for someone who has the fragile TYPE C PERSONALITY is to help them become aware that repression of emotions is highly harmful to them. They should be encouraged to adopt healthy habits that balance their mental health. Fortunately these habits are simple and easy to acquire:

  • Go for a walk, jog or run.
  • Eating fruits and vegetables
  • Drinking plenty of water
  • Avoid smoking, excessive alcohol and illegal substances. Any of these habits tend to worsen the problem.
  • Sunbathe for 15 minutes a day. This habit is antidepressant. In the Caribbean they would say – Go Get Some Sun!
